So You Think You Know Your City?

Taxi Board game is a fun family game containing local history and general knowledge questions specific to each City edition. There are also Sports editions including English and Scottish Premier League clubs plus our new International Rugby editions. The game is simple. Each round, one player asks a question from a card. The winner of the game is the player who has earned the most money at the end of the shift. Taxi is a great opportunity to test or show off your knowledge of your city or favourite team with your friends, family or fellow supporters!

  • Created by an Edinburgh black cab driver, the game was first piloted in Edinburgh and Glasgow, outselling Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit in major stores throughout Central Scotland. Now, with new features and a redesigned board, the Liverpool edition was launched in August 2020.
  • Taxi Board Game contains 600 local history and general knowledge questions about Liverpool, and just like driving a taxi, the better your knowledge, the better the tips, the more you earn. When your fare ends, answer a question on Liverpool to gain a tip.
  • Taxi drivers have an opinion on every subject, land on one of the ‘Sound-Off’ squares and it’s your turn to sound-off like a cabbie. The ‘Sound-Off’ cards contain a hundred varied subjects. On being told the ‘Sound-Off subject’, you have 30 seconds to mention as many of the six keywords printed on the card. Every keyword you mention increases your takings.
  • Driving a shift in a taxi is a combination of luck and knowledge, turn left you may get a £5 fare, turn right and you could get a £40 tour. This is reflected in the ‘Taxi Board Game’ by the ‘Give or Take’ squares. Keep the card for yourself or pass it to a fellow player. Is your luck in? The winner is the player who has earned the most money at the end of the agreed shift time, e.g. 1 hour or 90 minutes.
  • And then there is Give or Take – you decide whether you keep the card or pass it to another player. It could bring wealth or problems. Just like driving a taxi, the better your knowledge, the better the tips, the more you earn. When your fare ends, answer a question on Liverpool to gain a tip.

    How To Play:

    • Number of Game Players: ‎2 to 4 players or teams
    • Manufacturer Recommended age: 12 years and up
    • Taxi drivers have an opinion on every subject, land on one of the ‘Sound-Off’ squares and it’s your turn to sound-off like a cabbie. The ‘Sound-Off’ cards contain a hundred varied topics. On being told the ‘Sound-Off subject’, you have 30 seconds to mention as many of the six keywords printed on the card. Every keyword you mention increases your takings.
    • Taxi drivers daily takings are often decided by luck. Turn left and get a juicy fare to the airport, turn right and you could get a puncture. If you land on a ‘Give or Take’ square you decide, prior to seeing the card whether you keep the card or whether you pass it onto another player. You don’t know if the card brings good news or bad news until you turn it over.
    • You decide the duration of the Taxi drivers ‘shift’ at outset. The person with the most money at the end of the shift is the winner!
